Flight Log 1- AUS to LGB

Plane the first

2 hours 59 minutes
1223 miles
Seat 6A

I made it safe and sound to Long Beach. The flight was pretty straight forward and I shot somewhere around 80 pictures of clouds and the left wing of the plane. There was a kid who spent the first half of the flight yelling “Good bye Texas” in my ear, and the second half was “Hello California.” It was cuter than it sounds. For a while. But I was sitting next to his dad, so I couldn’t really snarl too much. I didn’t sleep so well last night since I was pretty worked up over the trip, but I managed to catch a few winks between good byes and hellos.

Debarking in Long Beach

But I got in just fine, and caught a bus to Broadway and Redondo, picked up the keys to Joey’s place at the bar and I am now settled in Long Beach. I got some awesome fish and chips at E. J. Malloy’s and now I’m wrapping up my day at The Library before we head out on the town.

The Jet Blue deal has sold out.

According to the JetBlue site:

The response to our All-You-Can-Jet Pass has been swift and huge, and now we’re sold out.

Our All-You-Can-Jet Pass has been a great success—we’ve sold out of all available passes! We limited the number of passes sold to make sure that everyone who purchased a pass would be able to take ample advantage of it during the September 8–October 8 travel period.

The official last day to buy passes would have been tomorrow anyways, but I’m glad to know that they kept it sane in order to keep the flights available.

The itinerary is mostly done

The ItineraryWhoop!

Looks great guys. I’ve got the itinerary nailed. Got the flights booked. A very nice lady named Sharon helped me out over the phone. Everyone at JetBlue has been really awesome and excited about people travelling. Sharon said that most of the people she has helped book have been consumer fliers like myself instead of business folk. I can’t wait to meet fellow fliers in the air. Should be a great trip.

Here is the itinerary as it currently stands:

Sept 8 – 9 Long Beach, CA
Sept 9 – 13 Seattle, WA
Sept 13 – 19 San Francisco, CA
Sept 19 – 23 Chicago, IL
Sept 23 – 27 Boston, MA
Sept 27 – Oct 2 Baltimore & DC
Oct 2 – 8 New York City, NY
Oct 8 – ? Austin, TX

I haven’t quite nailed down the Baltimore and DC sections of the flight plan, but everything esle I’ve got dialed in. Can’t wait to see everyone!
